CENTRO DE ACOGIDA EN LEYRE El Monasterio de Leyre constituye una de las referencias históricas de la arquitectura románica en Navarra. Se trata de un conjunto monumental cuyos hitos más destacados son su iglesia abacial, cripta y Porta Speciosa (siglos XI-XII). En Leyre, además, están los pilares del viejo Reyno y el panteón de sus primeros reyes. Además de sus indiscutibles valores artísticos e históricos la fábrica se encuentra enclavada en un paraje excepcional, al pie de la sierra de Leyre que da nombre al monasterio, sobre una atalaya desde la que se puede observar la gran extensión de agua que supone el pantano de Yesa. Por otra parte, el Monasterio es un elemento vivo, la vida monástica continúa en Leyre a ritmo del ora et labora según la Regla de San Benito (siglo VI) y hoy en día una veintena de monjes viven en él y en sus rezos, abiertos al público, puede escucharse el extraordinario canto gregoriano. Todas estas circunstancias han hecho que el Monasterio haya despertado un interés creciente para las rutas turísticas y los visitantes se han multiplicado en los últimos años, lo que ha desbordado la pequeña infraestructura que tenían los monjes para que los turistas y peregrinos pudieran llevarse algún recuerdo del Monasterio. Por ello se platea la construcción de un centro de acogida que sirva para recibir a los visitantes y mejore la oferta turística del paraje. El centro deberá de ser capaz de acoger tanto a los grandes grupos que llegan en autobuses como a los visitantes individuales. Pero además se aprovechará para mejorar la oferta gastronómica con un servicio de cafetería y de restauración que sustituyan a los existentes y permitan disfrutar mejor del entorno paisajístico. ________________________________ RECEPTION CENTER IN LEYRE The Monastery of Leyre is one of the historical references of Romanesque architecture in Navarra. All these circumstances have made the Monastery has aroused growing interest for tourist routes and visitors have multiplied in recent years, which has overwhelmed the small infrastructure that had the monks so that tourists and pilgrims could take away any memory of the Monastery. For this reason, the construction of a reception center that serves to receive visitors and improve the tourist offer of the place is planned. The center should be able to accommodate both large groups that arrive on buses and individual visitors. But it will also be used to improve the gastronomic offer with a cafeteria and restaurant service that replaces the existing ones and allows to enjoy the landscape better.
